Privacy Policy
Last updated September 24, 2026
Town & Trade is a sole proprietorship owned by Frank Gasparovic in Danville, California (“we,” “us”). We build, host, and maintain websites for local businesses. This policy explains what information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It covers our clients and prospective clients, and visitors to this site and to the websites we host for our clients.
The short version: we collect only what we need to build your website, run it, and bill you. We never sell or rent personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising. The websites we host use no cookies, and they count visits without recording who you are.
1. Information we collect from clients
| What | How we get it | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Contact details: name, mobile number, email, and the people you authorize to request changes | Our onboarding form, conversations, texts, and email | To communicate with you, confirm who can request changes, and provide support |
| Business information: name, address, hours, services, prices, story, credentials, and links | Onboarding form, conversations, and public sources | To build and update your website |
| Photos, logos, and other content you provide | Onboarding form uploads, texts, and email | To publish on your website, with your permission |
| Domain registration details: registrant name, mailing address, and email | Onboarding form | To register or manage your domain in your name, as registrars require |
| Change requests and our work log | Your texts and email | To complete requests, meet the 48-hour guarantee, and keep a record of what changed |
| Billing details: name, business name, email, phone, billing address, and plan | Stripe Checkout | To bill your subscription, send receipts, and keep tax records |
| Account access, such as a manager invite to your Google Business Profile | Invites you send | To keep your listings accurate. We never ask for your passwords. |
Payment card and bank details are entered directly into Stripe, our payment processor. We never see or store your full card or bank account numbers.
2. Prospective clients
To show a business owner what their website could look like, we may build a concept preview using publicly available business information, such as the business name, address, phone number, hours, services, reviews, and photos. This can include an owner’s name where it appears publicly. Concept previews are clearly labeled as unofficial and are kept out of search engines. If you are the owner and would like a preview taken down or information removed, contact us and we will remove it promptly.
If you give us your contact details during a visit, we use them only to follow up about our services, through the channel you agreed to. We stop when you ask.
3. Visitors to websites we host
This applies to this site and to the business websites we host for our clients. For a client’s website, the business is responsible for its own content; we operate the site on its behalf.
- No cookies, advertising, or third-party analytics. We don’t use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies, and we don’t build profiles of visitors.
- Visit and tap counts. Client websites count page visits and taps on buttons such as call, directions, text, book, and save contact. Each count records only the time, the website, the type of action, and the page. It does not include your IP address, device details, or any identifier. To count a visit once per browser session, the site stores a temporary flag in your browser that is deleted when you close the tab; it is not a cookie. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, nothing is counted. We use these counts to send each business owner a monthly summary.
- Server logs. Like nearly all websites, our web servers automatically log each request, including the IP address, the page requested, the time, and the browser type. We use these logs only for security and troubleshooting. They are rotated and deleted automatically after a short period.
- Maps. Some sites offer a “Show map” button. The Google map loads only if you tap it; Google then receives your request under Google’s privacy policy.
- Links to other services. Buttons for booking, reviews, social media, or directions take you to those services, whose own privacy policies apply.
4. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as needed for that purpose:
- Stripe — payments, subscriptions, receipts, and the billing portal (Stripe privacy policy).
- Tally — our onboarding form and its uploads (Tally privacy policy).
- Google — our email, and Google Business Profile when you invite us.
- Domain registrars and DNS providers — to register and point your domain. Registrars may publish some registrant details in public domain records; we choose privacy protection where the registrar offers it.
- Hosting providers — if we move your website to a managed host, it will store your site’s files and server logs.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect our rights or others’ safety, or to a successor if the business is sold, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information. We do not sell or share personal information for advertising.
5. How long we keep information
- While you are a client, we keep what we need to run and support your website.
- After you cancel, we give you an export of your site. We then delete your onboarding submissions, uploads, and site materials within 90 days, unless you ask us to keep them longer.
- Billing and tax records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires.
- Visit counts contain no personal information; we keep monthly totals for reporting. Server logs are deleted automatically after a short period.
6. How we protect information
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS) for every website we host, keep software updated, limit access to client information to the owner of Town & Trade, and use accounts protected by strong passwords. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will tell you promptly if a breach affects it.
7. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we have about you, and give you a copy;
- correct information that is wrong;
- delete your information, except what we must keep by law (such as tax records);
- stop contacting you about our services.
Text or email us using the details below. We will respond within 30 days, may need to confirm your identity, and will not treat you differently for making a request. California residents may have additional rights under state law, and we will honor them where they apply.
We send texts and emails about your website, your requests, and your account. We do not send marketing text messages.
8. Children
Our services are for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and notify clients by text or email before the changes take effect.
